White-metal slip-knot ring

Gatty Slip: a card with 4 whole and 1 broken silver rings, found on Sibertswold Down, Kent. Formerly in the Faussett coll. Like pl. XI, fig. 15, 20, 21 of the Inven. Sep. At the National Museums Liverpool, grouped in a box labeled Sibertswold M 6551, are 4 (3 complete, one fragmentary) rings, One is marked Sibertswold 180 and the fragmentary one marked Kingston Down 250 (re-assigned to accession number M 6346), both of which appear to be copper-alloy rings. The remaining two appear to be white metal, assigned on the basis of the Gatty Slip to Sibertswold dis-associated material. The accession number M 6551 could be associated with either the white metal or copper alloy ring found in Sibertswold grave 180. – D.H. & B.B.
