Pair of copper-alloy gilt rim bindings of organic vessels

Parts of a pair of bronze gilt cup-rims, diam. 5.6cm. Rim semi-circular sectioned to fit over leather? gourd? mouth-piece of cup, and held by three clips cut from furrowed sheet metal and twice riveted. One rim is slightly broader than the other. The gilt is very bright.The accession number KAS 466 is used for vessel rim fragments from Sarre grave 54 and 113. – D.H.
