Gold tremissis of Agen, Lot-et-Garonne with loop. Weight 1.496 gram.Obv. AUENO FECO. Bust right with short hair, cross cutting legend above head, cross on breast. Beaded border.Rev. +LEONARDO MONTARII. Victory advancing right, holding wreath, head disproportionately large, like obv. head. Legs and body, and what in Roman original was lower part of trophy carried over shoulder being reduced to single strokes. Beaded border. Corrugated loop clipped to and soldered to rim, plain inside. Coin slightly worn, loop fresh. Good orange gold.Agen an important episcopal town on the Garonne. Several 7th century coins known, but this is the earliest.
