Silver gilt circular brooch, diam. 2.6 cm. Circular central setting with white paste, and radiating from it four triangular cells set with flat garnets on chequered gold foil. Between them chip-carved motifs, evidently rather square and schematised renderings of Style I 'helmet' heads, inside a sub-square frame. Flat rim decorated with two rows of nielloed triangles. Very little wear apparent. On back usual attachment for missing pin and spring-coil, broken catchplate. Iron rust suggests pin probably iron.
