Inlaid white metal and iron disc brooch

Card 1: Silver and iron disc brooch set with garnets, diam. 2.4cm. 10 wedge shaped flat garnets, mounted on chequered gold foil, and set in silver cloisons radiate from a central round cell which is now empty - it once contained a 'green stone', perhaps a green-stained white inlay. The silver rim has petal-shaped scallops down sides. Backplate iron. Slight trace of iron brooch fastenings, but imperfect.Examined by V.R. Richard. See his notes.Card 2: small circular fibula, about 1 inch in diameter. Raised central boss, set with green stone, from this radiate 10 garnets of nearly triangular shape. Back plated with silver. diam. 2.4cm. Iron rim - back plate, damaged, pin catch missing. Central setting missing.
