Inlaid gold pendant

Gold and garnet pendant, length with loop 1.75 cm. Cabochon garnet with flat top, enclosed in sheet gold collar and sheet gold backplate which projects to make narrow rim around stone. This rim decorated at extreme edge with fine beaded wire: plain thin wire around base of collar. In between 3 twisted wires - all soldered on giving effect of pseudo-plait pattern. Loop made from strip of thickish corrugated gold, plain inside, soldered to front of back where cut off in triangle-shape. Outermost beaded wire continues inside loop. Suggests loop put on before beading. Loop shows virtually no wear, but outermost beaded wire rubbed nearly smooth in one place on left side loop.Lab results: AuAgCuBack54442Loop54442
