Inlaid copper-alloy shield-on-tongue buckle and plate

Bronze buckle, with broken plate, length 3.6cm. Oval loop with straight bar: tongue with shield on back, with vacant shallow cells, attachment missing. Plate of doubled sheet metal, folded over bar, cut for tongue, and originally shaped as triangular plate with usual three bosses. Bottom broken off in antiquity, and break smoothed and buckle re-worn. Rivet holes in the rounded protuberances at top sides.
