Gold braid

online resource
posted on 2021-10-27, 15:33 authored by Helena HamerowHelena Hamerow
Small piece of gold strip lying over right hand. The large group with cross pattern preserved at Maidstone as Sarre 4 must be Bifrons, as it is the length of a headband. Besides which, a note says braid too unravelled to tell length, and under 1/4 inch wide. It might be the odd bit with the 94 group, although this is not unravelled at all. Or, it may be unidentified among the numerous unravelled bits from other graves. The traditional Sarre 4 lot is not at all unravelled.
