In this very fragmentary contract between vegetable sellers from Hermopolis, one of them receives a payment, before parameters of a loan and interest in kind to be provided are discussed. Something seems to either have been located near the canal or was intended to be transported on it.
Lines 9–10 read as follows:

τῆς διώρυκος τοῦ ἁγίου Κολλούθου ἐν πεδιάδι [κώμης -ca.?- ]  ̣

'[…] … of the canal of saint Kollouthos in the plain [of the village …]'

(Text and German trans.: H. Maehler, Engl. trans.: G. Schenke)

Discussion

The canal mentioned is likely to be an irrigation canal, possibly located near or on a plain belonging to a church or monastery dedicated to Kollouthos.
