Copper-alloy work box

Cylindrical bronze work box, length 6.6cm, diam. 2.5cm. Body made of sheet metal rolled with edges overlapping. Bottom missing. Lid made of bronze disc with another strip for sides once braised on: it fitted tightly over top of cylinder. On bottom of lid a bronze staple, and 2 more, possibly originally 3 but one now missing, were affixed on sides just below lid edge. One chain was attached to lid, the other 2 or three to the staples at sides, and all joined to a wire ring with twisted knot. This ring has remains of three chains, and also a figure-of-eight wire loop, which Faussett's drawing shows as additional to the four original chains. Presumably he is correct. The staples are made of wire, with ends passing through sheet metal and hammered over like paper clips at back. The chains have wire S-links. The whole mechanism was designed to suspend vertically and permit lid to be taken off and also remain suspended.
