The pin was found by Mr. Kingsford 'on his then property near the central mill' and given to J. Brent, Jun., who gave it to Canterbury Museum (Brent 1875, 43; Roach Smith 1852, 164). This must have been around 1830, 'about twenty years since' Roach Smith 1850-3, 171 wrote in the early 1850s. Type Muids: Böhme 1974, 36. – B.B.
