Copper-alloy barrel lock

MS 723, folio 35: Sibertswold boxes. No. 24 \Brass hinges [image of barrel lock] [image of hasp]\Fragmentary bronze barrel-lock, length 2.1cm. Comprises a sheet bronze cylinder, rolled edge to edge, with a small cylinder closing the slit and attached by clip fastening. Internal works missing; indeed no trace of iron at all: end plates missing.Wooden box described in grave report associated with brass hinges (M 6448), barrel lock (M 6449) and iron fitting (catch?). – D.H.
